Indiana World Organization of China Painters
Indiana WOCP contacted US Second Lady Karen Pence and extended their expertise if there was any project of which they might be of service in Washington. Mrs. Pence replied and the VP Residence China Project began. Indiana WOCP member artists were juried in to paint 100 reception plates with the 50 state flowers to be part of the Vice Presidential china collection. The First Lady's Peony Project
"Helping Indiana's Children Bloom"
In October 2013 the members of IWOCP began a very special art project for Indiana First Lady Karen Pence. The Indiana china painters were asked to paint 150 presentation bowls with the Indiana state flower the peony. These bowls will be part of a fund raising event for the Indiana First Lady's Charitable Foundation.
Since the project began here it was only fitting that the fruits of those artistic labors be unveiled here as well. The Art Sanctuary in Martinsville, IN will serve as host to an open public reception in the main gallery to view these bowls on display
Monday April 7 from 7 - 9 PM.
Then on April 8 Mrs. Pence will formally accept the bowls. The recipient of the charity this year is Riley Children's Hospital. The Art Sanctuary is so proud to be the venue to showcase this monumental art project.
We hope that you will join us on the evening of April 7 to be the first to view all 150 hand painted works of art. Learn more about the Indiana First Lady's Charitable Foundation at:
